Welcome to the Birthday Ride 2005 page.

This year, rain was in the forecast. Fortunately, it stayed away all day...

...and the clouds made for some nice light(:

All the kid's around know this bird...for the last 40 years at least(:

Some of these photos are here for "landmarks" that locals will recognize, (not  because they are particularly good scenes).

The bridge that means fun to kids...it means you're almost there(:

Next week's the Memorial Day weekend, all the beaches will open, the parking lots will all be stuffed, and everyplace will be jumping. It will stay that way until after Labor Day when everywhere will just as abruptly close(:

This guy's getting a jump on things(:

Kid's know what it means when they see this building!

Closed, the Bumper Cars too...Oh, the pain!

Pretty big chairs here(:

The Ocean House.

The Ocean House.

Elm Street, coming into Westerly, RI.

Forbidden territory, Wilcox Park, (no bikes allowed).

"Oh, there's that house."

Childhood home of Ruth Buzzi(:

(That's actually New York in the background...not what you might think you'd see on a bike ride from RI to CT(: )

And when they don't know you're looking, the local horses sometimes display an acute sense of balance(:

Didn't know they could do that, didja(:

IIX Wonder of the World(:

(Sea Swirl, Rt. 1, Mystic, CT)

Up the hill on Route 1, heading south out of Mystic(:

And this concludes this years birthday ride(: It was 40 miles, from Weekapaug, RI, through Watch Hill, Westerly, Stonington, CT, Mystic and back home to Groton...followed by a bar-b-que and a Heineken(:

Yum(:

I'm thinking next year to go through my home town of Ashaway, RI and photograph all the fun places, sliding on the sand banks, the river, the swamp, Sandy Bottom, the field. Hmmm, it would be great to drag a camera up some of those tree's I used to hang out in...lol, probably get arrested for trespassing..."lol, 'and here's a photo of the cops coming up the tree to arrest me!"

There's other pictures of this house around here, from other seasons. Here's a Winter photo of it, and my favorite shot of it's on the Fall page(:

See ya next Spring(:
